The 153rd Big Bench in the World
The Giant Bench of Comano, built in 2021 by a group of volunteers from the village of Comano, is the very first in Lunigiana and the 153rd in the world, it is part of the worldwide Big Bench Project.
Where is the Giant Bench located?
The Giant Bench is at the foot of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, in the Comune di Comano.
How to reach the Giant Bench of Comano
After going through the village of Comano, take the Lagastrello Pass. Once you get to the village of Groppo San Pietro, continue for about 500metres. The Giant Bench can already be seen from the road. From this view point you have an incredible 360-degree panorama of Lunigiana, in particular there is a splendid view of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines and of the Apuan Alps.
