Romanesque bridge on the Lombard Road that connected the Po valley to Lucca
The ancient Colombara or Pracchiola bridge is situated in a village with the same name in the Comune di Pontremoli, on the slopes of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines. Renovated in 2017 with the help of the local population and by the engineer Giampiero Mariotti, the first to take the cause to heart, proposing its renovation to the Council and the Lions Club of Pontremoli.
Where is the Colombara bridge?
The Pracchiola Colombara bridge is situated in a village bearing the same name in the Comune di Pontremoli, on the slopes of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines.
How to reach the bridge
Leaving Pontremoli, follow the signs for the “Cisa Pass”, when you reach a hairpin bend you will see on your right the indications “Cirone Pass” – “Gravagna”, follow the road towards the Cirone Pass for about 9 kilometres, passing the villages of Molinello, Previdé and Casalina.
500 metres before reaching the village of Pracchiola there is a sign on the right indicating “Bridge”, go down the marked path. After a few metres you will have to pass under a large fallen tree.
If you want to reach the river bed, once you are about 50 metres from the bridge, take the path on the right.

Colombara Waterfalls, Piscio di Pracchiola Waterfalls, Cirone Pass (which links Pontremoli with the small village of Bosco di Corniglio in Parma Comune). In the near Pontremoli Village you will find: Museo delle Statue Stele in the Piagnaro Castle and Villa Dosi-Delfini.
